If I did, you could look it up and that would ruin it. You’re going to have to make do with knowing it is a little-known portion of New Zealand’s contribution during World War 2.

To me, the best part - and simultaneously the most difficult part to navigate - is that the events in the script are as close as I could get to what actually happened.

My source material has been family members of people who were actually there, personal letters to or from soldiers, war diaries of those servicemen, firsthand accounts from those who lived through it, war-time footage, newspaper clippings, audio snippets, government websites, lots of history books, and more googling than I care to recall.

It is a privilege to be involved in telling the stories of these heroes. I’ll share details as and when I can. For now, you can know that we’re getting all the documents ready for pitching to producers. I look forward to seeing what happens with it.
